1. What moment or life event made you want to get into music?
I was lucky enough to be in a family where there was music going on most of the time. My mom would sing to records and play anything from Bach to Lovin’ Spoonful. My older brothers were playing guitar and piano and singing songs they had learned. As I learned guitar, it seemed natural to be writing my own songs, even at eight years old back in 1960. It was in high school that I played a song I had written for a friend and she broke down and cried, because she was moved by the lyrics and melody of the song. I knew I had what it takes to reach people with my music.
