*****NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!!!*****

April 2010

forrest whitlow is rehearsing to go in studio with a band to record his 8th record tentatively titled "Gazillion Sunsets". the album will be of songs mostly written over the past couple of years that celebrate new beginnings, as in the quiet acoustic opener "Spring Begins" and the rocker, "Two is Better than One" to the rememberance of things past, in the folk rocker "1976". The record is part rocker with a country tinge and part folk-acoustic with a little bit of gospel thrown in. Forrest says his intention is to record with a full band for most of the songs with few overdubs for a more live performance feel. More on the band lineup later but for now it highlights, Pat Tomek (Rainmakers fame) on drums and Gary Paredes (long time amazing lead guitar player with Howard Iceberg and the Titanics). Rechelle Malin is being summoned again out of some small town in Kansas to join Forrest again for some backing vocals. Elaine McMilian has been bringing her great vox to live shows on "Perfect Hotel" (another song for the album) and will do backing vox for that song. There is no firm date for release at this time. More later.

David Hakan of KC Songwriters Circle writes:

"Forrests Whitlow's new CD, Sunrise in Reverse, gives us music that warms the heart and words that set us shaking an angry fist. This is graffiti on the walls of power done in harmonies, articulate acoustic guitar and beautiful melodies. Here are images you won't forget, tunes you will sing to and an album you will keep in the player a long, long time. This CD demonstrates Whitlow's seasoned songwriting ability. There are Rock N Roll songs of lost love and violence. There are songs of wit and philosophy. And there is even a soothing song of hope. He has proven once again to be the master of alternative acoustic rock. Sunrise in Reverse shines."
